Big plans for cherished Cuckoo garden

The Cuckoo Families and Schools Together (FAST) team have big plans to improve the garden dedicated to a much loved pupil who sadly died.

Parents and children began work last week to prepare the outdoor area known as Ayse's garden for picnics and open air concerts – with the first event planned for before the end of term.

This week, with help from the children, the first new plants went in – beans and potatoes.

The children then enjoyed fruit and snacks in the sun.

It is hoped classes will also use the new garden for outdoor lessons and Read Aloud events.

The families want to thank the Trust's Head of premises, Tony Arpino and his team, for the very generous help they are providing to cut the grass and to refurbish benches and tables.
