Playground, Thursday: Free food tasting to launch Cuckoo parents' world cook book

17 delicious recipes from around the globe have been included in a fabulous new cook book produced by parents of the school.

The book will be launched on Thursday in the KS2 playground at 3.15pm.

To mark the occasion samples of two of the dishes  lentils pakora and jollof rice - will be on offer: until supplies run out!

Authors of the recipes will also be on hand to talk about their favourite food and how they make it.

Today, Board of Trustees member, Professor Des Hewitt (pictured with Chair of the school's Families & Schools Together group, Gurjit Chabbra), was presented with the book on a visit to Cuckoo.

So if you fancy picking up a copy of the cook book (for just £1) or trying some lentils pakora and jollof rice, come and join us on Thursday after school.

How the Cook book came about?

20 families recently took part in a two month Families & Schools Together (FAST) programme at the school. Each week they cooked for each other bringing everyone together for a great meal with tasty food from literally all over the world. Someone had the bright idea to put the dishes into a book so that more families could enjoy them.

A very special thanks to Goody for compiling the recipes and photographs.
