Heron governor organizes special careers event

Oveta McInnis, one of our new governors at the school, used her contacts with the Enfield Caribbean Association, to bring in a group of 20  people from the local community to get our year 8s thinking about their options for the future careers.

The group included an accountant, solicitor, poet, and an IT project manager. Members of the Fire Brigade, the RAF and the prison service also attended, as well as a number of successful entrepreneurs.

The event ended with an incredible motivation session about self belief and why there is no limit on any student’s potential and dreams at Heron Hall from a speaker who had the students cheering wildly.

Thank you to Ovetta, the school careers team, and the Enfield Caribbean Association.
