Inspire Maths

Last month our incredible new inspire maths resources were distributed to each class.  Each table was given a box in order to help every pupil with their work.

Pictured is Enfield Heights Headteacher Matt Clifford with pupils from year 1 who are showing him how Numicons can help with the understanding of maths.

Matt Clifford “One of the key concepts of Inspire Maths is the journey is as important as the destination. We’re really encouraging the children to really understand their thinking behind what the answer is. Very often the children may know the answer but we’ll ask them to prove it using the manipulatives or using a pictorial representation. This is how we know they really understand the concept behind it.”
