Cuckoo generosity to help feed local people.

A very big thank you to our parents and pupils who generously brought in food to donate to North Enfield Food Bank at Harvest festival.

Once again the kind heartedness of Cuckoo families has shone through.

From boxes of cereals to packets pasta, tolilet roll, soups, tins of vegeatables and baked beans, the food kept coming.

The manager of the foodbank, Kerry, gave an interesting presentation in assembly explaining how the foodbank works and where all the donated food from Cuckoo will be going. "Well done Cuckoo Hall, you have made a difference", she told the school.

The Food bank

North Enfield Food Bank opened in 2012 and have given 5,607 three-day food supplies in the last year.

The Trussell Trust, who run the local food bank, supports communities and churches to open foodbanks across the UK.

The Enfield foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK.

The Foodbank Network was founded in 2004 after four years of developing the original foodbank based in Salisbury. Since then The Trussell Trust has helped communities work together to launch foodbanks nationwide in a wide range of towns and cities.

In 2017/18, The Trussell Trust’s Foodbank Network provided 1,332,952 three-day emergency food supplies and support to UK people in crisis. Of these, 484,026 went to children.
