Cuckoo netball team follows in footsteps of the ‘legends’

Our Year 5/6 Girl’s Netball Team faced local rivals Raglan with both teams going into the match with a 100% win record.

Cuckoo Hall started off brightly with Zaneya putting us 1-0 up. However, Raglan came back strong and were 3-2 up at half time and made it 4-2 within seconds of the restart. It would’ve been easy for the girls to feel disheartened after such a positive start - but that is not the Cuckoo Hall spirit.

They fought back with Zaneya scoring her 3rd and 4th of the afternoon. The score was at 4-4 with both teams creating chances to win it.

Approaching the last few seconds of the game a great team move leaves Year 5 Cecilia with an opportunity to win it for Cuckoo Hall. She lines up the shot, takes it and Cuckoo Hall claim the victory. Everyone on the sideline is ecstatic, (especially the teachers) who jump 4 foot in the air, as Cuckoo Hall extend their 100% win record in the Edmonton County Netball League.

Well done to all the girls who showed such determination and spirit to come back from 4-2.

This display embodies what Cuckoo Hall is about.
