Heron head teacher asks for parents support with use of social media

Arthur Barzey, our head teacher has asked Heron parents for support in ensuring that 'our students do not use social media to undermine, threaten or abuse each other or post images/videos of themselves or each other that could have lasting consequences.'

Whilst there is much to commend social media, when used properly, it is all too quick for people to make thoughtless, insensitive and offensive comments.

Recently we have seen a rise in the number of incidents outside of school when using social media which have subsequently impacted upon relationships and the community within school.
