Are you positive, resilient and hard working?

  • Do you want to further develop your passion for teaching and learning?
  • Are you an enthusiastic teacher with initiative?

Then we would like to hear from you.

If you are able to inspire students of all abilities to achieve their highest possible levels of attainment this Music (Drama/English) teaching role within CHAT Academy, is the position you are looking for. We are looking for a dedicated and talented Music (Drama/English) Teacher to help us deliver an outstanding school that is recognised for producing students who can be successful in any social sphere.

Heron Hall has enjoyed a fantastic £40 million development creating spacious, light teaching areas with our new building complementing the existing listed building which has been fully renovated to an exceptionally high standard. The most recent Ofsted inspection graded the school as ‘good’ in every category.

As a Music (Drama/English) Teacher you will plan, resource and deliver lessons to the highest standard, ensuring meaningful learning takes place and pupils make rapid and sustained progress. You will create a pleasurable and stimulating learning environment for students, and fully implement our routines and techniques for creating a culture of high expectations.

Your challenge will be to inspire pupils to achieve at least expected progress and the majority to exceed that standard. We will look to you to support and encourage student participation in activities extending their educational experience outside the timetable too.

You will also contribute to the enrichment, extra-curricular and raising aspirations programmes. We will look to you to participate in our quality assurance and performance management processes as well as promote the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils.

You must possess a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification as well as the ability to teach Music (Drama/English) to A level standard. You will be comfortable planning, implementing and evaluating the subject curriculum including appropriate assessment methods. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of what outstanding education looks like in the classroom as well as the strategies needed to establish consistently high expectations.

Heron Hall Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
